Aishi Bhattacharya is a PhD student in the Department of Comparative and World Literature at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on South Asian literature and culture, with emphasis on gendered violence, marginal voices, and representation. She studies how spectacularity and affect shape the reception of violence across literary and media forms. Her work engages feminist theory, postcolonial studies, and visual culture.
