The Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory is open to scholars with diverse area, period, and methodological interests with an interest in theory. Our affiliated faculty work on a broad range of theoretical fields ranging from Indigenous studies, to critical race theory, to aesthetics, to software studies. They come from various colleges across campus and organize and participate in conferences, lecture series, workshops, faculty-graduate seminars.

If you are a UIUC faculty member with an interest in critical theory, please contact the Unit director for information about getting involved.
