Nathalie Martinez

Nathalie Martinez (she/her/ella) is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her interdisciplinary research interests are centered in hemispheric Indigenous theories, collaborative methodologies, Indigenous diasporas and displacements, and multimodal methods with a focus on language and sound. Nathalie’s collaborations and creative projects grapple with the ethics of research and adopt decolonial approaches rooted in reciprocity, relationality, and responsibility. Her research approaches also draw from her practice of poetry, dance, and sound engineering.
